What are the benefits of honey?

The healing properties of the bee product are due to its rich composition:

  • natural sugar: glucose, sucrose, fructose;
  • vitamins: ascorbic acid, carotene, group B (B2, B3, B5, B6, B9);
  • minerals: zinc, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, calcium, sodium;
  • enzymes;
  • water.

Honey is a product that contains vitamin B9 (folic acid). It is responsible for the development and restoration of cells, including the stomach, which has a positive effect on metabolism.

Honey improves the digestion process.
Vitamins help to establish metabolic processes in the body. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) improves immunity. Manganese and iron improve digestion. Therefore, honey in folk medicine is considered medicinal and is used as an anti-inflammatory, regenerating, antiseptic, and restorative medicine. If you use the product correctly, you can relieve the symptoms of stomach and duodenal ulcers, as well as gastritis, at home. With regular use, pain, bitterness, heartburn, nausea and frequent belching go away. Bacteria are destroyed in the gastrointestinal tract, including the causative agent of ulcers, which has a beneficial effect on the process of regeneration of the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines, and helps cure the disease.

Contraindications

The benefits of honey for the human body are invaluable. This is a whole storehouse of vitamins and minerals. But, unfortunately, not all people can eat it. Contraindications to its use may be:

  • Individual intolerance to its components, expressed in an allergic reaction,
  • The presence of certain chronic diseases. Among them: bronchial asthma, diabetes mellitus, as well as atopic dermatitis,
  • Stomach ulcer in the acute stage. Despite the fact that honey is widely used to treat this pathology, in acute forms it may be undesirable or used only in small quantities diluted with water.
  • Other diseases of the gastrointestinal tract in acute form, for example, pancreatitis or gastritis,
  • Obesity.

The period of pregnancy and lactation should also determine a more careful approach to the use of honey. This is also due to its increased allergenic risk.
